Today was my “re-birth day” twenty-nine years ago. I am so grateful to my parents for giving me the greatest gift any parent could give their child: the gift of faith through Christian baptism. I have been buried with Christ by baptism into death, so that as He was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, I too might walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4). Now—through Jesus, with Jesus, and in Jesus—I hear the Father say to me (to me?!), “You are my beloved son, with whom I am well pleased” (Mt. 3:17). I (and you, Christian!) now share in Jesus’ own identity and mission—priest, prophet, and king. What He is by nature we have become by grace. What a beautiful, privileged, powerful, humbling, difficult, wondrous adventure life with Christ is! I am so thankful for all of the amazing people who have supported my journey into Christ along the way. We are one beautiful family of faith! “One Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Eph. 4:5).
